Terms & refunds

Vettr assessment is a consumer product of J.I.S Private Investigations · License A24038101 (Texas). The $15 fee is for clarity and a real match — a confidential assessment and, when a licensed investigator is warranted, an introduction to a fitting Texas investigator. It is not a retainer, not legal advice, and not a promise that J.I.S will accept your case or that any investigation will succeed.

Completing the assessment does not create an investigator–client relationship. Any later engagement requires a separate written agreement and retainer.

This product is limited to Texas matters. We may refuse or refund a submission that is outside Texas or that asks for unlawful work.

Refunds when a PI is not the fit

If the Vettr assessment recommendation is that a private investigator is not the appropriate next step — for example, you should contact police, an attorney, or request a public record yourself — you may email pi@jinvestigate.com within 14 days of payment and ask for a refund of the assessment fee. Include the name and email used at checkout. Refunds are issued back to the original payment method when the recommendation was “not a PI fit” and no investigative engagement was opened.

If you complete the assessment, receive a PI recommendation, and simply change your mind, the assessment fee is generally not refundable. J.I.S may still refund at its discretion.

Investigator consultation

The optional $100 Vettr consultation is a separate product from the Vettr assessment. It is time with a licensed investigator to discuss whether and how investigative help may be useful. It is not locked to a case type, is not a retainer, and does not open a case file by itself. You do not need to complete the assessment first. After you pay and book, a licensed J.I.S investigator will confirm the appointment. The fee is generally not refundable once the consultation has been held; J.I.S may still refund at its discretion if the call never occurs.
